We are fully in the swing of Christmas at Acorn this year with Christmas crafts, 2 Christmas Nativity plays and a big Christmas party on the last day of term with Mr Marvel attending to bring much laughter and cheer. 

Merry Christmas Everyone and a Happy New Year

One of our lovely parents came to speak to the children about Guru Nanak's Birthday which is a Sikh Festival. She talked to the children about who he was, where he lived and how the Sikhs go to the Gurdwara to pray. Also how Sikh's celebrate this festival. 

Acorn Montessori School celebrated its 30th year since opening with a children's outdoor tea party followed by Mr Marvel entertainment. Much fun and laughter was had whilst celebrating this momentous occasion.

All children took part in our annual 'Big Toddle' Obstacle Race, completing an obstacle course whilst being timed. Children demonstrated skills such as climbing, crawling through a tunnel, throwing a bean bag into a bucket, balancing, kicking a ball into a net and doing a roley poly. £1812 was raised for a fantastic cause Dr Barnardos which we are very proud of.

One of our daddy's attended Acorn Montessori this week to discuss his job 'Carpentry'. He demonstrated the tools that he uses and showed the children what he can make with the tools. 

Children then had the opportunity use the tools such as hammers and nails, saw, and using a drill under supervision. This really sparked the children's imaginations and they were mesmerised during the demonstration.
